Professor emeritus at the University of Belgrade; full member of the Academy of Technical Sciences of
Serbia; member of the Scientific Council of the Science Fund of the Republic of Serbia; General
Manager of the Innovation Center of the Faculty of Organizational Sciences; member of the Assembly
of the Science and Technology Park Belgrade.
For five decades he has been dedicated to scientific research and realizations in the field of
computer sciences. He has published more than 320 bibliographic units. According to the Google
Scholar citation index, his works were cited 1315 times. He has realized more than 100 projects in
the field of computing. He is a pioneer in the field of GIS and high-scale databases. He has
designed and implemented digital terrain model of SFRY. He managed the development of the domestic
computer program TIM and participated in establishing the national transactions payment network. He
developed RadioCAD, software package incorporating GIS technologies aimed for computer aided design
of radio communications. With his associates he developed TEMPO, software package for visualization
and sonification of EEG signal. In recent years his main course of actions includes projects in the
field HCI, CAL and education game, Internet, mobile computing and telephony, UAV, stock-exchange and
brokers’ information systems, biometric systems, LPR parking enforcement systems. He founded the
Laboratory for Multimedia Communications, Innovation center, and Linux Center at the Faculty of
Organizational Sciences. He is a member of Editorials of international journals YUJOR, IJKSR,
COMSYS, and JITA.
From 1972 to 1976 he was employed in the Mihajlo Pupin institute in Belgrade, as a Scientific Member
in the field of Research and Development of Digital and Hybrid Computer Systems. From 1976 to 1979
he worked in Interkomerc-Informatika company as a project manager in a number of industrial projects
concerning design and implementation of computer network for transactions payment. From 1979 to 1983
he was employed in Federal Administration for Radio Communications, Belgrade, as a Technical Advisor
of the General Manager. From 1983 to 1992 he was employed in the Mihajlo Pupin institute in
Belgrade, first as a Technical Manager, later as a General Manager of the Computing Laboratory. He
became a teacher at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering in 1987, and since 1992 at the Faculty of
Organizational Sciences.
Dusan Starcevic was awarded the Serbian Association of Informatics Experts prize. He was awarded the
ETAN prize for the best paper. He received an award from the University of Belgrade for B.Sc. work.
From The Yugoslav Society for Computer Sciences and Information Technology he was recognized for his
long term work on organizing and maintenance of annual scientific-expert meeting.
